Elizabeth Taeubert, LCSW, RN, MS Related seminars and products


Elizabeth Taeubert, LCSW, RN, MS, is a lead trainer for the IFS Institute and has led IFS trainings both domestically and internationally. She has worked extensively with clients healing from PTSD and complex trauma. Additionally, she provides individual and group consultation to IFS clinicians. Elizabeth holds an MSW from George Williams College in Aurora, Illinois and an MS from DePaul University in Chicago.

Objectives

  1. Idenitfy the primary goals of IFS
  2. Determine how traumatic events can result in the development of internal parts, according to the IFS model.
  3. Categorize client emotions, memories, thoughts, behaviors and symptoms into the three types of parts described within the IFS model.
  4. Examine the importance of Self Energy and Self Leadership as they relate to successful IFS treatment.
  5. List the “6 F’s “ that represent the six steps of working with a part.
  6. Define the backlash loop that results from moving too quickly when working with protectors.
  7. Identify target parts with clients using the “mapping “ technique. 
  8. Differentiate how a part is exiled, as articulated in the IFS model.
  9. Utilize the IFS model to assist clients in identifying the fear of an exiled part.
  10. Determine how to negotiate with an exiled part to avoid overwhelmed.
  11. Identify the “8 C’s” that represent the qualities of Self in IFS.
  12. Determine the six steps of the unburdening process.
  13. Evaluate the function of polarization and how it may express itself in therapy.
  14. Evaluate the importance of the therapeutic relationship in the IFS approach.
  15. Utilize the IFS model’s therapeutic technique of obtaining permission to work with a part for communicating with parts.

  17. Summarize how the IFS model can impact the function of the nervous system.
